Alaric Breedlove is a minor character in Spellbinder. He is a teenage witch and a member of Circle Twilight.
Spellbinder[]
Alaric is a sophomore at Lake Mead High, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He attends the Samhain Circle dressed as Tammuz the shepherd. Lawai'a Ikua is asks Alaric to "take the water", presumably to sprinkle it around the perimeter of their circle whilst the witches are performing a Samhain ritual, but they are interrupted by Aunt Ursula, who arrives to bring Thea Harman and Dani Abforth to the Inner Circle.

- The name Alaric is on German origin, meaning "noble ruler" or "ruler of all".
- Alaric shares his name with Alaric Saltzman, a major character in another of L.J. Smith's series, The Vampire Diaries.
- Alaric's personal deity, Tammuz, is mentioned as being the son of the "mother goddess" Ishtar. Tammuz was originally known as Dumuzi in the ancient Sumerian religion. He was also worshipped as a god of the harvest in Mesopotamian religions (including those of the Sumerians, the Akkadians and later, the Assyrians and Babylonians) prior to the spread of Judeo-Christian religions. Ishtar was the goddess of love, sexuality, fertility and war (in some myths, she is Tammuz's lover, not his mother). She played a major role in the religions of Mesopotamia prior to the introduction of Christianity.
- Alaric is one of the few male witches to appear in the series (male witches being rarer than females).
