Spring Rain was the mate of the prehistoric lamia, Hawksbill of the Redfern and mother of Ravenwing of the Red Fern. Though unknown for certain, it can be assumed she was also lamia like her mate and child. Spring Rain's offspring became the ancestors of the Redfern family.
Spring Rain could be considered a traditional lamia name. Spring refers to the season that takes place after winter, often symbolising new life and birth. Rain refers to the weather rain. Interestingly, in some parts of the world it is noted that it frequently rains during the spring months.
- Spring Rain is the second prehistoric lamia to have a name associated with both a season and weather, the first being Summer Ice.
